The Bathtub Test

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director how they determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalised.

'Well,' said the Director, 'We fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub.'

'Oh, I understand,' said the visitor.

'A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup.'

'No' said the Director, 'A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?'

I know, corny right? Just buy a Slingbox and watch anywhere you want.

Nice Shirt!

Saw this shirt at ATC while on our way back to the parking lot:

You can pay for school
but you can never buy class!

Time to rave.

Again!

I have been ranting about BPI Family every time I get piss with them. So it's only fair to rave every time I get happy with their service.

Well, the other day, I asked Yaya G to deposit mom's cheque from SSS/Meralco. It was dated April 2008 and has this note that it's valid for a year. The teller, not looking for notes (which was a little unnoticeable) did not accept the check. Also partly my fault, I was not able to show Yaya G that small note in the cheque. I thought cheques are valid for a year from the date it was issued, 6 months lang pala.

So anyway, went back this morning and thankfully it was not a busy morning for the bank. Been very lucky with my banking experience with them and really hoping it won' get jinx ever! :D

Just Curious

Not that I feel proud to have captured nice pictures using my point and shoot camera, believe me, taking a picture of one object takes lots and lots of  shots to capture the perfect one.  But why can't other people do the same? I mean, I can understand it if there are times we post blurry pictures but posting more blurry pictures than good ones are questionable. I try to capture more shots of one thing so I can choose better picture to post. Kahit papano hindi naman nakaka disappoint para sa readers diba?  I don't know, I find it distasteful.  Please give a little more effort, would you?  Nakakawalang ganang basahin yung article with blurry pictures.

Money's worth

Alojamiento Web is a Spanish website that offers different web hosting packages with free domain registration. It is known as one of the top companies in this sector.
All web hosting package includes, free domain registration, free Creative Web, unlimited email accounts, control panel in Spanish (favourable if you can read and write in Spanish of course). For the basic package, it has 1000 MB hosting and 10000MB transference. For the professional plan, it includes 2000MB hosting and 20000MB transference and lastly, the corporate plan has 5000MB hosting and 50000MB transference.

If you plan to only get a domain, .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .es, .com .es, .nom.es, .org .es, and .eu are all priced the same at 11,99 Euros or 15.84 US Dollars or 748.55 Philippine Peso. Of course it gets cheaper if you register it more than a year.

There are actually lots of choices when it comes to getting your own web host service or just plain domain registration. I suggest that try to research first for feedbacks and good deals (coupon codes etc.). Plus, even if this may get cheaper if you register for more than a year, get it for a year first to test and see if it’s value for your money. And if you think the company is great, then perhaps after a year, renew and pay more than a year’s worth.

Peste!

We're once again dealing with this pesteng anay (termites). I think we should be treating the house yearly for maintenance purposes. We started having this unwanted visitors when I was pregnant in 2006. In 2007 they found where the queen termite is, in our neighbors tree. We had the same experience 2 decades ago. Found the queen termite from the same spot. And honestly, I think we can never really get rid of this unless all the neighboring houses will do so at the same time. Hay! nakakainis!

Way to go!

Still getting good news/services from my ever favorite bank. We were there yesterday and I didn't wait too long, just waited for the one in front of me to finish his transaction. Nagbago na sila! I hope this is part of their new year's resolution that something they will not break :D

How to?

How do you get rid of 20 pounds from your system? I have 2 pounds for each arm to get rid off. Plus 1 pound from my face, that makes 5. 4 for each thigh and 7 pounds from the tummy. Ang hirap! Let their be a miracle!

In Advance

Being a first world country really has great everything. From services to technology, they have it first. Not that it does always but most of the time it does. I have never been this amazed in my life not until I was able to see and experience it myself.

One of the difference they have there from here are moving companies. Their, like the boston moving company, they offer much greater benefits getting their services. It is like getting a wedding or birthday coordinator to handle all your moving needs. While here, you get to rent a truck which comes a driver and assistants for moving stuff from point A to point B and that is it.

Perhaps I should be positive and really not compare the difference since sometimes, you need such additional benefits in the US since sometimes, moving is not within a state but to a different state. Even moving from one city to another city within a state is somehow difficult, these benefits are means to attract more clients to get their services.

We have been in the situation where in we have to move to another city and our stuff will not fit our car. I was willing to drive our car and let the husband drive the rental van. Good thing ti was a group effort and someone drove the van for the whole group.

Wow!

Amongst the Spice Girl, I liked Mel C the best. But that was before. Though I still like Mel C., my eyes are now lusting for Victoria Beckham aka Posh Spice. And here she is modeling for Emporio Armani. Wow is an understatement for this mother of 3.

Gosh, I only have one kid and my body is no way near hers! Geesh! Life is so unfair! :D

Round trip!

OMG! Can I just rave about my round trip from LP to Mandaluyong and back to LP awhile ago?!

After getting married, the husband took the responsibility of driving for me/for us. You see, I've been driving since I was 5. Of course on my dad's lap. As you can see, the love for driving was there as early as 5. There's just one thing I hate to do, driving at EDSA! Really, it creeps me!

Anyway, since hubby and I got married, the farthest places I went were 5-10 minutes away from home and I never have to pass a major road. And because of this, I have a slight fear of driving at SLEX/SSH or the major roads. I think and feel out of practice. And an additional information, I never liked driving at nights. It's just difficult for me.

The husband didn't feel well awhile ago so I had to pick him up in the office. I was really dreading driving thru EDSA but I have no choice. I don't have my epass and I thought there will be a long queue in c5 exit. I stayed in the inner most lane until I found out c5 exit is free flowing! Oh shit!

It took me 1.5 hours from and to our place. There was slight traffic right after the Rockwell bridge.

The night was cooperating. I was expecting traffic right about in Sucat and Edsa from Buendia. But there was none at all, just a slow down before Guadalupe. Isang himala! Plus I survived the night!

The Magic of Blogging

Blog Advertising is one sure way for advertisers to get noticed. But there are also cons on this specially for the readers and or researchers.

If you want to make money blogging, there are different “establishment” you could join. From what I have learned, paid blogging started in 2006 and bloomed around 2007. And I bet many people earned a lot from this type of “business.” And I admit I am one of them BUT I bet my earnings is incomparable to those who have been in to this business since it started.

As I have said awhile back, there are cons in this business. I for one had experienced false review. Well, not really false but unhelpful review about a certain service. I was trying to look for feedbacks about a travel agency and found nothing good except for one out of probably dozens of reviews I saw when I googled it. These “reviews” are actually just statements of encouragement from bloggers or publishers about the travel agency. Again, I admit I am also guilty of this. As much as I want to give a bias review, often than not, the lack of experience tends to keep me from giving just the same, an encouragement or just a link.

to each his own

I never really liked the elliptical. I am more of the stair master user. I get so tired easily with the elliptical. What I love with the stair master is that i have this thought or notion that I am working to improve the built of my butt. It actually worked since I did not really have a good butt then. The husband likes the elliptical, next to the treadmill. So I guess, to each his own.

On Meds

Did i ever tell you guys that I am on Metformin again? Yes, I have taken it 4 years ago for infertility purposes. Now, i am taking it once again for percussions. I was diagnosed to have PCOS 5 years ago. PCOS is a close relative of diabetes. I am just being careful plus it is like hitting two birds with one stone: help me lose weight (metformin's side effect includes diarrhea but not as bad as Xenical :D) and help regulate my hormones. At least I won't be needing Ephedrasil hardcore

Improvement

Did you know that conversion rate optimization can help us increase our web site response rate by as much as 900%?! That is a lot and I bet every one like me who is in to some kind of blogging business are interested on how this thing will work for them. For more info, click the link to visit their site.

Face-BOO-k

I love checking updates from my Facebook account specially when people actually update their profile every now and then. I think it's much better than Friendster. But it saddens me to know about the a news regarding Facebook's apparent negative stand against photos of breastfeeding moms. I don't see anything wrong with photos of breastfeeding mom or moms breastfeeding in public specially if done with grace or in tasteful manner. I think, people who see malice in it are the ones with such sick, dirty, closed minds. Hello!? It's is not as if it is being done to sexually stimulate/attract onlookers.

And if you are one of those who thinks breastfeeding in public is obscene, I suggest you go to a doctor and have yourself check. Malamang lamang may sakit ka sa ulo!

A happy day!

Even if it started not right. :D

I am not a grouch and besides, it was my fault. I was scheduled to have a blood test this morning and all along, I thought I was having my usual OGTT ++ test. So I had fasting and didn't eat breakfast before I left for the hospital. Kasi naman, d nagbabasa! I had a different blood test from my endocrinologist. I was scheduled 6 months after I had my OGTT last April (I was suppose to have the test last October, 3 months late :D) so I thought it was a regular OGTT since I am actually having trouble with my sugar. Not that I am already diabetic but I think I am going there sooner or later if not monitored well. If I remember it right, my OGCT result was not normal that's why i had to do the OGTT which had good results then. This time, I had different test: PBBS or Post Prandial Blood Clucose test. What I am familiar though was the other tests: FSH, LH and Testosterone which I had before. My endocrinologist is also monitoring my PCOS in line with my blood sugar. I think they somehow go hand in hand.

Anyway, I kept myself busy in the hospital for two hours reading New Moon for the 3rd time.

After the extraction of my blood, went straight to BPI Family Bank to deposit our loots from Christmas. :D It was still early and the tellers were not busy just yet. I experienced a good service this morning and that's 2 good banking services in a row for me already. Keep up the good job!

After that, went straight home and do my usual round-up: check email, feeds, networking site update and blog updates. And what do you know! Mr. G gave me back half of my rank. Thank you Mr. G. sorry for being grouchy the other day. Can't help it. It was new year and then you gave me early bad news. ;)

Even if I didn't get back the original rank, I am still thankful that I have something. Something is better than nothing. :)

So there, hope this happiness last until this afternoon. Well, forever! :D

Useless Discount Coupons

I received a SmartBro letter last Maonday, January 5, 2009 which contains discount coupons. There are about 30 coupons which are ALL valid until DECEMBER 2008 ONLY! WTF! What's the purpose of giving out discount coupons we can never ever use! What's your problem people!?

*pasing tabi Maver :D

Business Luck

Know more about retail franchises? My mom and her siblings actually entered in one in 2006 and it is actually doing great. Not bad for first timers. But not all deals are a success. Three of them entered into another franchise and it did not actually do well. They had to close it after almost 2 years. Now my mom has her own small general merchandising store and hopefully she gets lucky with it.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you too Mr. G! You have been soooooo generous this year! NOT! You are the one thing that ruined my new year and I thank you for that! *pft!* Hopefully you had one crappy new year Mr. G!

magbiro na sa lasing...

wag lang sa bagong gising!

For some, this is in fact true. But in my case, it was different.

There is this one subject that I am really really really and I mean REALLY sensitive about. And there is this one person awhile ago who touched the subject unwittingly. He maybe old and the brother of somone biologically close to me but he has no right to even joke around about the topic. It's not funny and no one is laughing. And excuse me, we are not close even if we are biologically related. It ends there and nothing more. hay naku! Panira ng araw.

It happened in front of my eldest sister and I was thankful she didn't sided with him. I know my behavior was unacceptable, I was rude and disrespectful, but I have to show him that I am not one of those people who just take too sensitive jokes sitting down. Pu+@ naman, walang bastusan!

Lesson learned fom the experience: RESPECT BEGETS RESPECT. And as the saying goes, as edited by my youngest sister, MAGBIRO KA NA SA LASING AT SA BAGONG GISING, WAG LANG K ATE MELDITA. *LOL*

P.S.
I just reacted seriously about his remark. That's what you get for being insensitive. And he said it not just once but twice. Admittedly, I can't and I didn't accept his apology. Maybe next time. Good luck!

Are you really a pro-blogger?

How do you classify yourself as a pro-blogger? Is blogging or posting for FFF* and the likes makes one a pro-blogger? For me no. Not unless you're post are relevant to one another. Ex.: if a blog is supposedly about entertainment, all posts must be all about entertainment. I know FFF* and the likes are sort of advertisement but then again, some does not really write about the product but merely add the word in a post just to fulfill the requirement. It is not really much of a help to anyone at all. I am guilty of this and for that, I don't see myself as a pro-blogger or even consider the blog a pro-blog at all. As long as it is clean of ads like this, but still earn in some other way, then that for me is pro-blogging. Plus, this is not really the gauge of being a pro-blogger. There are lots of things to learn before you consider yourself a pro-blogger. Hello SEO?!

What is Plantar Fasciitis?

Plantar Fasciitis is a painful inflammatory condition of the foot caused by excessive wear to the plantar fascia. The pain usually is felt on the underside of the heel, and is often most intense with the first steps of the day. It is commonly associated with long periods of weight bearing or sudden changes in weight bearing or activity. - wikipedia

So, is this going to be one of the indicatives that I am overweight? They say that obesity is one of the causes of this illness and I am not going to let it happen. Ever!

To take or not to take...

I am this near on trying Xenical. The TV commercials are a great influence and every time I see Xenical's ad, it always makes me want to commit to the brand. I can't, I won't and I shouldn't. I am not too desperate to really rely on that. Maybe I will just have a Phentermine to help me suppress my appetite. Sigh! Ang hirap magpapayat!
