WTH is a cosmetic dentist?

So ok, now I am confused. Now we have a cosmetic dentistry. So what is a cosmetic dentist? According to Consumer Guide to Dentistry:

While traditional dentistry focuses on oral hygiene and preventing, diagnosing and treating oral disease, cosmetic dentistry focuses on improving the appearance of a person's teeth, mouth and smile. In other words restorative, general and/or family dental practices address dental problems that require necessary treatment, whereas cosmetic dentists provide elective — or desired — treatments or services.

Well, I guess it's just appropriate to call it such. And if you are from NJ and need to find one, might want to check Orange New Jersey cosmetic dentist.

Learning from others

Friend A recently moved from the south to north. Friend B is now preparing to move from CBD to down south. So what do they had in common? Moving items from one place to another. And what did I learn from them? If you need cheap moving boxes, don't buy new balikbayan box or the likes since it is not cheap. Go to the grocery store and ask if you could buy their boxes, the ones used for their goods. Better tip I got from friend A, buy the big Oishi boxes. I think those are really big! :D

Is it summer on our side of the world?

It seems so even if it should be already rainy season. Well, it rains sometimes but most of the time... the heat is excruciating! This is the kind of heat you would want or best time to go on vacation (go check Branson vacations if you have time) or go to the beach and have fun. But if you think it carefully, it is August and weather is like this, then global warming is really scary and something we have to think about. Please people, care for mother earth. Think about your future or your kids future. It sad to think that they never get to feel the things we had before (fresh air, clean water, etc).

i like the sound of this but...

So I need to blog about colon cleansing and what do I do if I do not know anything about it. I google it. And so, I saw this information at MayoClinic.com:

They say that colon cleansing — also called colonic irrigation — removes these toxins, thus promoting healthy intestinal bacteria, boosting your energy and enhancing your immune system.

Sounds promising but...

While there is little scientific evidence to support or refute the benefits of colon cleansing, critics say it's generally unnecessary and at times may even be harmful. Although doctors prescribe colon cleansing as preparation for medical procedures such as colonoscopy, most don't recommend it for detoxification. Their reasoning is simple: The digestive system and bowel naturally eliminate waste material and bacteria — your body doesn't need enemas or special diets or pills to do this.

One concern with colon cleansing is that it can increase your risk of dehydration. A potentially more serious concern is that certain laxatives used in colon cleansing, such as those with sodium phosphate, can cause a rise in your electrolytes, which can be dangerous if you have kidney disease or heart disease.

New Toy

The husband recently decided to buy a new desktop for home use. As I have mentioned before, his laptop of 2 years died on him last May. Anyway, I was actually asking him if we could get a Mac instead. I just would like to feel the difference between windows and Mac. Of course the husband did not buy Mac, it was too expensive and actually impractical. Why? Well, I have my own laptop. Hubby has his company issued laptop. The new toy is actually used for downloading and watching movies which he can't do in his laptop :D. So you see, if we bought a Mac, it's kind of useless really. Unless I give up my laptop :D

Perhaps, when I am done paying with my not so new other toy, I could start saving up again for another laptop. I'll get either a MacBook Air or a Sony Vaio.

Not due til October, OK?

The husband's been bugging me since our auto insurance quote from insurance company A arrived a month ago. his car insurance is not due until October this year so that gives me around a month more to canvass other companies. We have been with our current insurance company for so many years since our agent is a cousin-in-law. Less hassle to transact with the company when you someone inside. (Hello Philippines :D)

Hooray!

Woot! woot! It seems that my efforts of losing fat is working. Gradually. :D Better that than nothing.

I have been trying so many years and only 2 worked, one was belly dancng and my current regime, no rice diet. If my calculation is right, I will be able to attain MY ideal weight by Decemeber. No need to think about extreme measures just like before but still, I nee to do some fat burning exercises to kip me fit and healthy. If only I have the will and power to do so :D Sigh!

3 months and counting

I have been postponing for my/our dentist visit for the longest time. I planned this even before we left for Europe 2 months ago and told myself that we will just visit the dentist hen we come back. 2 months after, I still have a gap in my tooth. :D Perhaps, if my dentist gives out a dental discounts now, we will come running immediately.

I should set this up once in for all. The little girl's teeth needs check-up also.

baby you can drive my car

Hubby and I were talking the other day about his car. Though we are still counting years before we can even sell this one, we are already (day) dreaming what car to get next. Of course we plan to sell this old car and use the payment for down payment of the new car. We were thinking how much will be the car's value by 20xx. It will depend how "maalaga" we are going to be, number of Kms and of course, additional or less original car accessories. What I remember most from my dad was that, cars tend to lessen their value when you changed its original parts. This was the reason why even if I wanted to modify my first car, my dad didn't allow me to. Well, what can I do then, it was originally his car and I was still actually a minor then. He can still decides for me :D

Anyway, I followed that rule and never replaced anything from any of the car I had.

losing more pounds

I do not know how my own fat burner trick works but it does. I did not actually thought that I would really see result since I dead set that nothing I do will really work.

Anyway, I plan to continue what I am doing: no rice diet and hoping to see more result by December. Target is 120 pounds. 16 more pounds to go and then I can celebrate. Eat and be merry by my 31st birthday. LOL

From one city to another

We experienced long distance moving in 2007 and I will never forget that year where one of my IM accounts was hacked!

Anyway, we moved from one city to another. How far? 2 hours drive at 80MPH. Yeah, that far. We were not the only family who traveled and moved that far. I think there were at least 4 families with one rented van and several cars that moved to that city. Imagine how full the rented van and our cars were. It was at least worth 11 months of stuff!

Daydreaming

There are times when hubby and I would talk about having a new house. He wants it contemporary and I agreed to that. What I want really was to have a large kitchen, a large family/entertainment room and a very nice walk-in closet :) That would really be great! I still want to have most of our stuff from our house now since these are older than I am. I don't know if I could give up our old chandelier for a new Murray Feiss one. Well, I am just daydreaming here. ;)

Let go advance

How I wish that gps systems are readily available here in the Philippines. I heard there is one company making it already to reality. But I wonder how accurate it is going to be. There are so many side streets coming out of nowhere and not necessarily included in the system. well, if they could do that then I salute them!

be educated

Thank goodness for technology and internet. Whenever I need to do some research about anything under the sun, this thing is my guide.

Whenever I was tasked for a health check-up, I rely on the internet for more explanation about the procedure and about the result. There's this need to know why it is done, what it is for and how I can prepare to make the result more accurate.

There are also support groups (e.g. pcossupport.org, malignant Mesothelioma, ivf.org, lungcancer.org, etc.) available online whether internationally or locally. I think these are the best information the internet can offer since these are usually base from people's experiences.
